Kuyabeh is situated in an exclusive area that is known for its beautiful and delicate aquifers and vibrant green jungles, as well as its elusive but captivating native animals and mesmerizing ancient culture. Designed to be a self-sustaining ecological community, Kuyabeh is located on the Tulum-Coba highway, precisely at kilometer 34 right between two of the Riviera Maya’s ancient Mayan ruins, which are considered the most beautiful in the entire Yucatan Peninsula.
Our goal in creating this responsible and sustainable ecological community is to first and foremost care for and preserve the local Mexican heritage, leaving a strong legacy for future generations, while preserving the native tropical forest and its ancestral people, the Mayans. To accomplish this, we have created a foundation to benefit the local population and the surrounding area.
Our first phase, known as Balam (which means “jaguar” in Mayan) consists of 94 lots at 1 hectare each, as well as some amazing common areas, including 20 hectares of jungle, park land, with hiking and cycle tracks, natural terraces, interactive workshops and cultural areas. Balam will also include an observation tower for local wildlife, a palapa and a beautiful cenote, among many other amenities. There will also be plenty of activities for people of all ages to enjoy in this community and its surroundings.
A few of the design characteristics we have incorporated include permeable streets, generating alternative energy, space for natural and organic crops, a holistic meditation and yoga area and the use of local and natural materials in the construction of housing. All of this makes Kuyabeh not only a dream community, but a project committed that is totally committed to the balance between human beings and the natural world that surrounds us.
The great news is that comfort and concern for ecology do not have to be at odds, and Kuyabeh will demonstrate this to the highest level. We will have a eco-chic hotel on a 2.3 hectares Lagoon, there will be 40 luxurious, rustic-style cabins, all following strict environmental regulations, where guests can see the beautiful lagoon set against a pristine jungle background.
Kuyabeh views self sustainability as a natural response to the ecosystem, also called self-sufficiency. In self-sufficiency we distribute the resources we have at our disposal, to sustainably provide the services that we all require daily. If we do well, we can preserve some of these resources for many generations to come. At Kuyabeh, we invite you to breathe deeply, close your eyes, feel the warm Caribbean breeze and appreciate the natural scent of the tropics emanating from this magical land which we call home. You don’t have to search for heaven anymore... You’re at home in Mexico’s Riviera Maya.
